HAANG WUI 幸會, IT IS OUR HONOR.

Far East Descendant (FED) is a modern Cantonese Restaurant in Philadelphia’s Chinatown neighborhood. Featuring a one of a kind menu deeply rooted in authentic Cantonese flavors and cultural tie-ins, the menu will consist of small plates (Taotoy), claypot rice (Bojai), Montao sandwiches, and other various dishes stemming from the love of Cantonese cuisine and culture. We also feature a unique cocktail menu with creative uses of Cantonese ingredients.

THE DESCENDANT

One of the oldest languages and cultures in East Asia, the origins of Cantonese existed long before the unification of territories of what we now know as modern China. The food is distinct, and the language is even more distinct, so often that the heavily Cantonese-speaking territory of Hong Kong often refer speaking to mainlanders as a chicken speaking to a duck since the language barrier is so great.

Far East Descendant was born of the love of Cantonese food and culture, presented through our own creative way. We hope to see you soon!
